St. Xavier’s Parish, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad, has 634 families residing in the western side of the city. Built on St. Xavier’s College Campus in 2001, it has an attractive church whose distinctive hallmark is the aesthetic Risen Christ with an Indian resonance to it and a welcoming gesture that attracts people to pray. An interesting facet is also the word “Navrangpura” means a complete spectrum of 9 colours and it coincidentally matches the nine ethnic communities that constitute the parish.

R.I.P: FR. RAPHAEL CHAKKUMPIDY SJ
We are sad to inform you that Fr. Raphael Chakkumpidy SJ (GUJ ) 81 years old / 60 years in the Society of
Jesus, passed away on 06 May, 2018 at 03.15 AM in Our Lady of Pilar Hospital, Vadodara, Gujarat.
The funeral mass will be held in Subir (Dang - Dt) at 03.00 PM on Monday, 07th May.
All the members of the Province are to offer
One Mass and members of the community are to offer two masses for the repose of
Fr. Raphael Chakkumpidy SJ.
May the good Lord
grant him eternal rest and may his soul rest in peace.
